Some of them probably are. Most are likely responsible and mentally stable.

There is (imo) something wrong with people who dismiss either side of gun control out of hand. Those who sneer at the right to bear arms are just as thoughtless as those whom refuse to consider the benefits of any type of regulation such as child access, ballistic fingerprinting, assault weapons, sales to juveniles, etc. etc.
