Wrong. The government doesn't steal from itself (except for modest waste and BS) but in the case of the S+L deregulation debacle and the energy deregulation and gouging, you had private companies, freed from the rules, with almost no policing, go out and rip off the people and the government for hundreds of billions of dollars. Both of these big scams were centered in Texas, by the way, and both included Bush brothers.
