Try this on. Woodward was pre-empted by Deep Throat. He was pissed. Having been out of the limelight for some decades he wanted back in, and Felt scooped him at the last moment.
Mark goofed up Bob's timing.
He knew how to get there. A sellout of course.
Now he will skate on criminal charges, and sell more books than ever, or maybe second on the list.
Woodward loves the press and the notoriety. Always has.
He just loves it. Get right in the middle, and then talk about it.
