Look, I'm shocked, disgusted & outraged at John Murtha right
now. Given his history, he should know better than to call
for a full & immediate retreat from Iraq. That would almost
guarantee a huge setback in Iraq & the Middle East. It could
easily mean the loss of Iraq to become a rouge regime & a
terrorist breeding ground. I don't doubt for a second that
this will be played as a huge victory for all terrorists
globally.

I can understand that you & others are extremely upset too.

However, describing Murtha as: "traitor", "vermin", "cowardly",
"vile and despicable a piece of offal", "Jellyfish" & "betrayer"
is over the top.

I don't mind the occasional use of strident rhetoric to
accurately describe the actions & behavior of those who
have gone off the deep end. I do mind it when folks get right
in the gutter & act like all too many unhinged left wingers
have for several years now.

This thread is dedicated to exposing reality defying POV's.
It is not a place to express them. I don't think that Murtha's
history justifies his being denigrated with vile words as
that post uses.

Bitter personal attacks & over the top, vicious rhetoric does
nothing to address the issue, civilly, rationally or logically.

Please save the strident rhetoric that accurately describes
those folks who have unambiguously earned it. And even
then let's do it sparingly.
