Ben, these people announcing their trades beforehand could harbor any number of reasons for doing so. I think such announcements are practically as worthless as their "predictions" or "recommendations". After all, anyone here can say anything -- we could never know who is posting real trades as opposed to paper trades, etc. Of course this does not stop those with certain petty motives. Some hope to be lucky and reserve the right to say "I told you so" if the stock moves in their favor. Some have frail egos that need petting and self-esteem that needs reassurance, so they post trades hoping to impress the anonymous masses. Some may actually believe in the ludicrous notion that their posts could impact ASND's share price at a given moment...as if all of our orders combined would have the influence of an instituional player! No chance. Maybe some genuinely believe they can foretell ANSD's future...who knows. But one thing is for sure...anyone who bases a trading decision on another person's analysis/guesswork, without knowing him/her personally and the historical track-record, is a complete fool. Yet even though most posts fall into the categories above, there are the ones that truly offer something valuable -- straight, unfiltered, and raw information. That's what I look for: INFO. Chances are, when news hits the wires, one of the 1000s of other investors out there will come across it and post it here or at the Motley Fool. The individual emotionally-tainted and slanted opinions can be gotten at your local hair salon or diner. But the raw info is what is most useful to process and base a level decision on. The rest is just noise -- ironically like my post regarding this!
