Nixon was impeached by virtue of the Articles of Impeachment brought against him. That is the accusation. The definition is about the accusation. I think that most people say that Nixon was impeached, but resigned to avoid the prosecution. It was clear that the votes were there in the House as it was majority democrat. The point being here is that Nixon was a criminal. His resignation in the face of being caught red handed does not absolve his crimes. Course Ford pardoned Nixon in one of the worst abuses of the pardon by any president. So I suppose he's now totally guilt free IYHO! LOL! Orca
