Democrats who want to cut out right away are still damn few, though that may be changing. In the end, I do believe those who change will have egg on their faces. Kerry will do better than that, a little.

Republicans never required "help" from Bush to get elected to their positions. Bush is an admitted butcher of the english language, and certainly never inspired confidence in me. While I'm for the war, and applaud the man's decisions after 911 when all were paying him lip service for "bringing America together," I never really understood those thoughts, nor why any Democrat would bother to claim he did great then, but they did. A parrot could have squeeked out his "words which brought America together" successfully after 9/11, I thought. Even at the time, he never seemed so inspiring to me. He's always been a nervous phony sounding speaker, who seems not to comprehend what he reads or memorizes most of the time, even at his best (when he occasionally does alright).
