For their to be some centrist government, we need some ideas from the center. I think Murtha is giving it a start, but it needs to be laid out more plainly, so people understand what is at issue (or maybe not, maybe I'm wrong about that- maybe "GET OUT NOW" is enough of a rallying cry for the center- since that is what the American public wants). We also need more than just an idea about the Iraq war. I'd like to see some ideas on taming the deficit (some good ideas, that might actually work), and further some good thinking on energy, industry (I'm worried we're losing/we've lost our entire industrial base- which seems a national security issue to me) and entitlements. The vicious attacks by the republicans are pretty funny, considering they are actually also attacking the American people. As we have seen on SI, calling your opponent names, and being a twit, rarely convinces people to accept your ideas- oddly enough it often has the reverse effect.
