I think 'contac' with chickens mean they eat sick chickens. Surplus birds are sold alive. This is according to my experience when I was a small boy (when the T-Rex roamed the Earth.)

We did this when we lived in the farm.

We had more chickens that we could eat and we sold to the neighbors.

The government would not force us to follow the rules -vaccination and bring dead chickens to be examined of the cause of detah. That because our chicknes were not going into the normal food chain which is controlled by the sanitary authorities.

The chicken droppings were used in the fields and the surplus chicken manure was sold to the neighbors too.

Now the authorities assumed any sickness outbreak would be contained within our area.

Now imagine if this goes on in the poorer areas of Vietnam, Indonesia, China. There is cold and where it is cold, birds move over to warmer lands bringing the bugs within.
