Wrong. Murfa has the ears of the Generals at the Pentagon.
I'm sure they are split about it, but Murfa is so hawkish and conservative, so pro-military, that he would never call for the end to a conflict unless his pals the generals asked him to say publicly what they are not allowed to. Remember, DOD generals are not allowed to speak their minds. Patton got fired for that. Yet they can use someone like Murfa to communicate to the people for them. It worked.

This war is ending, but our presdient GW Bush is totally out of touch with reality and that is dangerous. I heard him give an energetic speech in Korea with his usual wall of troops behind him, and he sounded like we were winning in Iraq and had a clear plan. Bush has no real plan. He bumbled in and has been bumbling around ever since like a bull in a china shop.
