Nixon was one of the biggest POS to ever hit the planet. He resigned because he knew that he would be convicted of high crimes and misdemeanors. That our nation stood up to him and said you can't do this anymore, that is what is important. Impeachment proceeding were begun. He fled like a thief in the night.
