Karen, why are the Democrats unable (again) to just state what they would vote for? I don't know. Perhaps it's because they are not of one mind. Perhaps because, given that we are where we are, there aren't any really good alternatives. Or perhaps because it's to their political advantage not to. Let them bring it forward. It might be constructive to allow the Murtha proposal to come to the floor and have a serious discussion about it and perhaps amendments and a vote. But then, that probably wouldn't be to the political advantage to the majority party. Edit.
