A cut and run proposal was defeated, not a withdrawal of the occupation forces proposal.

I have read both. The only difference between Murtha's original proposal and the one rejected was the "reaction force." This is already in place anyway.

The Dems used Murtha to continue their "cut and run" rhetoric that goes over well with their base. The Republicans turned it around on them. The Dems ran because they know it doesn't sell with the overall voters.
