It said that the left wanted to suppress info that religion exists, as thought no one would be otherwise aware that there is such a thing thus wouldn't get caught up in it.

Oh, I don't think there is any doubt that a lot of leftist secular intellectuals would love to run religion out of the marketplace of ideas. They really agree with Marx on this issue.

For proof of this, just look at the leftist world-wide attempts to kill religion in the 20th century. They did incarcerate and kill millions. China still jails them.
