ElM, Berlusconi and cronies are trying to get more women around them, which is understandable. Anyone who has spent time in an all-male environment knows how unpleasant, dull, crass, lifeless and vulgar it is.

Berlusconi and his buddies want to have some chicks around to impress. <Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's Cabinet approved planned legislation aimed at forcing parties to name a woman candidate for every three men running for election.>

They would probably like to specify "must be foxes" or in Pommy parlance "must be fit". But that would be tactless. They will have to hope that the electoral system will weed out the hideous.

As NZ has shown, if women want to play politics, they can. And they get elected. And they get to rule the roost. Whether they want to is another matter.

I think that politics is turning into a female occupation and blokes should be out doing manly stuff in cyberspace, such as winning Unreal Tournament, or developing cerfing technology and geekware.

In the old days, when the world was to be tamed and neighbouring tribes defeated, politics was a men's work and women ran the house. Now, a city is like a house, and cities are where people are and women naturally rule the house. Blokes get sent outside where they won't make too much mess. Blokes wearing an apron and sewing doilies is just not on. Even countryside is no longer wilderness. It's part of domesticity too. So women should rule there too.
