That's what I thought. The Americans of World War II believed in the cause, sucked it up, and just did what ever they had to to win. We fought in Europe against Germany, and we fought in the Pacific against Japan. We went from about 130,000 (I think the number was) enlisted military to over 16 MILLION by the end of the War....
Atomic and nuclear bombs weren't around until the end of the war. We had a bit of time to manufacture and gather that type of force, plus all the equipment, ships, planes, food, etc etc to support the effort then. Not much time, I'll grant you, as people were being killed daily while we gathered our forces.
Today, with the advent of nukes, and worse, we won't have the time unless we are prepared beforehand.
How many of our cut and run Congress members have made any provision for the worst to happen?? |
