Sure, they can go lower. But every point below 40% or so is usually a tough battle. Every week, the numbers are a couple of points lower than they were the previous one. I can't remember the last time the numbers were about the same as they were the previous week, if not a little above. This is a steady and persistent slide. And the less people like what they see and hear, the less favorably they are willing to view any action. This is the level when he starts taking blame for things that aren't his fault just because of how negative things are.

Don't get me wrong, it couldn't happen to a nicer guy. But things are getting almost to the point where I am starting to feel a little sorry for him. Not yet, mind you. But sort of getting into the same hemisphere. Still way over the horizon though...
