A combine cuts muiltiple rows of stalks off 8" or so above the ground, removes the ears off of the stalks, shucks the ears, and delivers the corn kernals from its onboard bin into a waiting truck of trailer every so often - while comminuting the stalks, leaves, and cobs then laying them back on the field as fertilizer behind the machine.
