Laz, Without us, there would not have been a Patton, Eisenhower, or Bradley, to be in charge of the different factions of Europe, and send them in the right direction. Without us, there would not have been an Anzio, Salerno, and most importantly, there would have been no D-Day. Without us, everybody in Europe would be speaking in German now. Without us, there would not have been the counterattack during the battle of the bulge, and Hitler's Panzers would have made it all the way to the English channel, get loaded on barges, and romp through the English country side.
If Solon thinks that we just played a limited role in WW2 in Europe, he should go back to high school history. Because he is a Canadian, he won't own up to the fact the Montgomery was a fop, and wouldn't move until he was sure he wouldn't face another Dunkirk. He had no guts left. |
