Drive a HUMMER do you, Jeffy? People that waste resources SHOULD pay more. People that conserve resources should be rewarded. It's simple, good public policy.

There's nothing elitist about driving an efficient vehicle.

What's elitist is driving a giant gas hog when you don't need it, and telling the rest of the world to GFY. Anyone who's lived in any metro area sees these clowns stuck in the same traffic as them every day, sucking gas and blasting pollution from their single occupant SUV's.
