Woodward traded in his credibility to get access a long time ago. His past few books have all been puff pieces. I fail to see the point of being able to have big names in your books at the cost of only presenting their side. Might as well write fiction and be done with it.


If you and Parson are right, I think Woodward is a subtle example of what is wrong with society today. Here's a guy who blew the lid off a major scandal 40 years ago now screwing up an investigation of a current scandal because he was playing it safe and did not want to be inconvenienced. Woodward probably would have become rich and famous no matter what he chose to do but he didn't want to leave anything to chance. So as you suggest, he whores for rich clients writing puff pieces that favor them. Its all about the money.
