Yes, on one hand people of a religious faith, quote their respective Books as the word of G-d, yet violate what the that Book instructs.

But, continue to consider themselves a member of that faith.

Or, in the case of some Jews, twist things around and claim Jews to be a race of humanity and not required to follow any Jewish law.
