With the logic of the argument you're using I can see that we'd end up doing more of the same. That's not acceptable... That is where we two differ. I think US interest should come first. If it means keeping a dictator in place (not in power) then so be it as long as doing so safeguards US geopolitical interests. We are doing so with President Musharraf. Propping him up to serve our interest of fighting terrorism. If we really want to dislodge a dictator in support of human freedom and human rights, then we damn well be sure that there is someone who could fill the void immediately. CIA did that in the past. What is wrong with doing so now to combat the rise of Islamic fundamentalism.
