It was about Saddam feeling threatened by the Iranian Shia, no more, no less. He had to go to war in order to stay in power....an that was his only concern.

Let him and his army fight the war for us against the rising tide of Shia fundamentalism. Today, the US is faced with fighting it. Would you rather not have others do the work for you but at the same time reap in the dividends?
