the UAW whines because GM is firing workers:

While GM's continuing decline in market share is not the fault of workers or our communities, it is these groups that will suffer because of the actions announced today," the union said in a statement.

GM has lost market share because of a widespread perception that it makes crappy cars. GM has lost out to the superior quality of the Japanese, as documented over the decades in reliability surveys from Consumer Reports. how can this not be at least partly the fault of the people who make them?
