Methinks there is something called Republican parallax.

Of course outing a CIA agent is serious - imagine the outrage if it was a Democratic administration who had done something similar.

Also its right up the "patriot" Republican alley. Outing a CIA agent should totally grate on the typical Republican's nerves because it is tantamount to treason.

Otherwise you have these phony boloney "patriot" Republican leaders like Bush and Cheney spouting off about "courage" and "staying the course". Yeesh - both evaded Vietnam and Bush didn't stay the course on his own military service getting an early discharge.

But Republicans simply don't see how nonsensical and hypocritical their positions are. How can someone support Bush or "torture" Cheney? Why isn't the outing of a CIA agent treason?

Call it Republican parallax.
