Similar notebooks appear in ads from time to time for $699 - $200 to $300 in rebates, which takes it just about down to that price. This deal is a no rebate deal, which is a huge plus (depending on how you value your time, and your money's time), but the configuration could really use just a little beefing up, which you can do with the rebate notebooks. Basically, it's a terrific deal for someone with basic computing needs.
