Well Elroy, whats happening is, a lot of technology is changing their model to services which can be funded by ads.
Hype alert! Hype alert!
Come on, don't you remember all the free ISPs from 6 years ago that were going to get their revenues through ads? Where is Netzero these days, anyway?
As for tech changing its model to service, how does a PC become "service"? How does an email server, a cell phone, a home printer, a Word application, become service?
CSCO, MSFT, IBM, HPQ, DELL, and INTC make up ~50% of the revenues of S&P 500 technology stocks. Exactly what affect does GOOG's sales of internet ads have on their business?
Not much.
Most commerce is local and the entire market for ads is untapped.
We're talking tech stocks here, not local commerce. I only care about your gardener if he's using a new Dell electronic hoe! |
