I've just reviewed some past press releases, and based on trends, I'm expecting the annual profit which should be reported next month to be about 1.50/sh. The company president predicts, in the last release, that the trend for increased profits should continue into 1998. Let's speculate that 1998 profits hit 1.70, perhaps higher. With those results, I'd be very surprised if the share price doesn't see at least 14.00. It may see that level even if profits are flat in '98. That would be a 40% increase over its recent trading range. Not bad for such a solid company--they've survived 99 years; they're not likely to go out of business tomorrow. I'd like to know what you think of these numbers. Do they sound reasonable to you? --Mike
