Agreed. But it seems to me that we should at least go through the exercise of outlining the relevant factors and see what we know about them. This knee-jerk reflex that goes directly from bias to action is scary. At least we should outline the factors and consciously decide that there's no way to know so we'll go with our guts. This mindlessness makes me crazy.

I see no evidence of that. I posted that because it was a change of pace in that it at least attempted fact finding and analysis.
