Perjury, obstruction of justice, lying to a tribunal, etc. are never "personal" matters..... It was a personal matter until Starr got involved. And exactly why did Starr get involved? What did Monica have to do with Whitewater? Overreaching by a a mile. Factually incorrect. What Bush said was the Brit Intel had learned that SH was trying to buy uranium in Africa. The Brits stand by the report. In his speech, Bush -- citing British intelligence information -- said Iraq was trying to buy uranium, which could be used to make nuclear weapons, in Africa. The White House concedes that information wasn't true. Tenet said that at the time the speech was delivered, the line was factually correct because British intelligence did indeed believe that it had evidence of such activity. But he said the CIA's own investigation of those same allegations had led the agency to decide that that the evidence was inconclusive. cnn.com So, Tenet took the blame for something that was correct? The CIA concluded that what Wilson found made it more likely to conclude that SH was after uranium. Nope. See my earlier post and link. #714484
