First, Mike...I do my own thinking, and not someone elses'. I read everything I can, including left wing and right wing and in the middle (if there is such a thing anymore) columnists. And or Congressmen.

Hopefully, that is clear enough for you.

You mentioned 54,000 deaths as in "Uncles war"...First over 57,000 American men and women were killed in that war. Over a several year time frame. And in a war that Johnson and the Democrat Congress (both Houses) said to fight, but DID NOT fund properly. Kennedy got us more involved in VietNam, and Johnson even more so. Don't forget we had MacNamera on top of it. The White House was running the show. We won actually in the Tet Offensive, but lost because we didn't fund our South Vietnamese after we said we would ...in other words, we didn't honor our commitment to them. We had a Democrat controlled House, Senate and Presidency.

When ever we get out, I'm sure that we have people in the Government who are doing their job, and who know how long it will take to get the vehicles, buildings, tents, weapons, hospitals, medical supplies, food, supplies and all the etcs out for over 130,000 people. Then we have the people to get out.

What many people have forgotten to think about is: Our own soldiers are not all stand-alone people. Most of them rely on others to do their parts of the various jobs.

I have NOT seen a single plan that says once we are out, what we expect the Iraqis' to do to replace what we are doing. It isn't just a matter of "training the soldiers."

And one further thing...I saw the other night, an article from the New Orleans paper....the person who wrote the article seems to think that NO is in such bad shape that it will take not two years to get it back together, it will take at least ten years ~!!!!

The whole state of Lousiana is many MANY square miles SMALLER than Iraq.

And still, people are excecting our Military to be miracle workers, building buildings, schools, feeding people, clearing the area of landmines, build the jails, watch the murdering Saddam and his henchmen, watching out for suicide bombers, and every other thing that is going on in over there in a land that is nearly the size of California.

Ableepingmazing!

BTW, as bad as it is that about 2,100 -2,200 people have been killed in Iraq since March of 2002, (2 years and 8 months)....

We have killed on the roads of America over 100,000+++ at the average of 40,000+ people PER YEAR.
