What's to disagree about? Both are factual statements and not opinion. Well, you're welcome to disagree, but you can likewise disagree with the theory of gravity - doesn't mean you'll fly.
If you can provide a link from a trustworthy source indicating any AQ training camp in an area under Saddam's control, i.e. where he could actually do anything about it one way or another, please do. (e.g., not blogspot.maniacterrorist.co.iq, spin.mossad.gov.is or whatever)
I'm not sure, as I said, who the (possible) AQ man was in Iraq - I knew it was for hospital treatment, and I thought it was Abu Nidal. You posted a link about Zaqarwi (under the name of Abu Musab which might explain what I confused): Message 21909314 However your link does actually predate him doing anything under the AQ banner, so I'm not sure how he could be identified as AQ at that point. This shows him as active in local Jordanian terrorism, in the 1990's, but no AQ then: rferl.org Powell's deeply discredited speech mentions him as active only in 2002: state.gov and I can't actually find any mention of him active in Iraq before the build-up to war, which would tend to imply that he was at best peripheral until we came within the limited area where his maniacs can act. Again, if you can provide a reliable source indicating earlier AQ involvement in Iraq, please do.
Or if you don't wish to, no problem. It's not a very exciting topic :) |
