I know of Burgess because I was an investor in Alias Research. While I had the stock, I followed the results and the management closely. Watched couple of his interviews etc. as the company started to turn around. Definitely one of my winners. Incidentally, their main competitor was softImage, which was acquired by Microsoft in 1994.

Another point in MACR's favour is with a strong balance sheet they can acquire companies to broaden their product lines. I just have to check what MACR prducts do and who are their competitors.
