I don't understand your point. The problem in New Orleans is far deeper than our current discussion. A permissive culture where anything goes and bad guys can get away with anything is one in which the good guys must have their Second Amendment rights. If the police come in and confiscate their guns, only the bad guys will have them, because the bad guys are by definition liars, criminals, and incorrigible gun abusers who will not give up their guns just because the police ask for them. Yeah, the kid who runs down the aisle in the bus grabbing people's hats is not one who should have a gun.
