"I don't understand your point."

Really, I was asking your point in posting that frightening story about New Orleans? I considered that you were using it to illustrate why we need the 2nd amendment. But we have that Right and 70 million Americans own guns and you and I have no disagreement about the dangers of Government and the necessity to take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing end them so I did not know what any of that story had to do with my suggestion that gun regulations are not necessarily antithetical to the 2nd amendment. I would never, of course, suggest that some regulations may NOT be antithetical to the 2nd amendment. I just don't see that gun owners have any special immunity from the concerns of other citizens about where and how they handle their guns in peace time.

Some old west Marshals used to require the boys to leave their guns while they went in to raise Hell in the saloon after a month driving cattle with no women. The people that lived in a town year round did not want their town destroyed and people killed by strangers who spent 2 days there. It was gun regulation. You didn't like it you had the option to slap leather!
