there are frequently rumors that Deutsche Bank has gold-derivatives related problems ( always denied, of course ) . it's possible that the WAG sales are in part designed to help them and other big European banks out with this. it's certainly suspicious, in the 'where there is smoke there is usually also fire' sense. note also the steepness of the advance in Euro-priced gold after 350 was breached - sure looks like someone's position was squeezed.

don't be so thin-skinned. someone has to point out now and then that Sinclair is exaggerating a lot regarding the hedging issue. anyway, GSS is a buy at this price, it has a great growth pipeline and lots of blue-sky potential to boot. it just doesn't make sense to get hysterical over 75,000 oz. worth of sold calls imo ( obviously the 15K expiring this year don't need to be counted ) . granted, the stock has been an underperformer ever since it fell from grace last year, but as we have seen with numerous other cases, this year's dogs often become next year's big winners, and provided the gold price stays bouyant i suspect the market will begin to notice GSS's rising production and falling production costs next year. just trying to be helpful.
