Let me see....the poor people lived primarily in the 9th Ward. The 9th Ward is the section of the city that is most below sea level and the most likely to get flooded out if there was a breach of the levees. Most of the rich neighborhoods barely saw any water at all. If you think these facts are coincidence and don't have anything to do with current racism in NO, then I have a couple of freeways to sell you real cheap!

"Don't have anything?" I wouldn't go that far. But current racism isn't the primary factor, and probably not an important factor.

The distribution of the population in New Orleans had more to do with wealth than race.
