Yes and yes.

Murtha said something very stupid - that the US could just cut and run without doing any harm to Iraq, without it handing Iraq to a civil war between Al Qaeda and the Badr Brigades. The whole of the US military and Iraqi leaders know it too (the same politicians who are calling for a timetable for withdrawal in public are begging the US not to pull out precipitously in private. This is how Arabic politics works).

I see no reason to describe this policy as anything other than "cut and run". The Democrat's assumption of indignation over a Marines officer saying "Cowards cut and run. Marines never do." is purest hypocritical Washington theatre, where military experience or sacrifice of family members provides sanctified moral authority beyond any criticism IF you agree with them BUT no moral authority whatsoever if you don't.
