I don't think you have it in you to understand it
Oh ouch, ouch, Thomas! What a charmer you are.
OF course the president has weaknesses. His secrecy, his terrible communication skills, his failure to keep the public informed and committed to what is happening. His falling support shows this. He failed to understand the need to explain and convince. These are not the ravings of the unhinged, but facts evidenced by polls and the problems showing up within the core. Things are crumbling. It doesn't matter if the president is without sin-- his admin has a problem, and no amount of denial is going to fix it, only dealing with it.
Hey- I am not an unhinged, wildeyed leftie. I voted for Bush- twice (admittedly the second time with much less enthusiasm). I am a conservative, for heaven's sake, but I deplore where this admin has taken us fiscally, as well as not agreeing with the manner in which this war was undertaken. I am not against war, I was not FOR Saddam, I hate this us/them political mentality, and the refusal of some to accept any facts that contraindicate the beliefs they have wedded themselves to. I have no urge to argue WMD over and over, or whether Bush lied (an accusation to which I don't subscribe). I wish all that could somehow be put aside, and the immediate problems dealt with without the crap and games. I dream.
THe locals haven't the resources or the funds to fix the immigrant problem-- which incidentally is not a "local" problem by any means. Once here, the state is mandated to provide services, and more and more illegals are dispersing throughout the country. It is far more severe currently for the border states, but it affects all states and it is getting worse. I don't ATTACK the president's plan. I disagree with it. I don't believe it solves the problem. It doesn't seem to be picking up a lot of support either.
As for your instrument analogy.... it makes perfect sense to me. I watched my son make music technically from the time he could reach a keyboard. It's a gift like any other. I can sit at a piano and play Bach to pop---Im a lot of fun at parties. That's my gift and training. But I don't look down on others who can only play Chopsticks or believe that my ability translates into greater wisdom overall. You seem to believe yours is the only tune around. But you can only read one screen at a time, and like everyone else, you are limited by your own biases and preferences and choices. Declaring that anyone who disagrees is ignorant, incapable of understanding, and dumber than a bag of hammers makes you sound just like the unhinged you so love to criticize. |
