She put out so many falsehoods about her own son it was enough to make anyone sick

OMG, where to start......

First she said her son was "tricked" by recruiters and that's something I know from personal experience to be a big lie. Recruiters get in serious trouble if they trick anyone. Not only will they most likely get shipped back to the fleet minus some rank but they've just wasted large sums of money trying to train someone who's more likely to be a disfunctioning problem and a discharge later on. Not to mention that any schools, rating preferences, special deals used as enticements the military may offer, the recruiter must tell the recruitee that the Navy will try to comply BUT the needs of the Navy always comes first. Even if the recruiter didn't tell him that, it's on any papers that he'd be signing.

Second she said it was her sons first enlistment when in all actuality it was his second. She did all she could to paint him as a naive innocent taken advantage of by the military to suit her own anti-war agenda.
She said he wanted to be a Chaplains Assistant saying that it would have kept him out of combat....wrong. Chaplains and their assistants are required to perform services for troops in combat zones.

She tried to make her son sound like he didn't know what he was getting himself into. Much to his honor, he knew exactly what he was doing. To save time you should just read this:

freerepublic.com

To put it all bluntly she lied about him to suit her own twisted purposes.

Does the husband say that he is seeking a divorce because he does not approve of her activities?

Her husband is a private man. I've never seen an interview with him at all. But he filed papers one month before she started camping out at Bushs ranch siting irreconcilable differences. It would stand to reason that he wanted to put as much distance as he could between them after he learned what she was planning to do.
