That is some story.

I can relate to that as my Great Grandfather was a logger in Southern Virginia----I have a very, very tattered picture of him and the men and the trees and logs. And had the privelege of knowing him in his 90's.

His daughter, my Grandmother, would talk about his rolling the logs and seeing this. By this I think she meant when the logs came down the river to the mill he and others would be walking atop the logs down the river.

And, then another Grandfather owned a logging company-------they were very strong, tough and handsome men. This Grandfather I did not know but have a wonderful picture of him with my grandmother in a buggy with horses.
