I believe we talked in the past about Ford & GM and the tactics they employed to move product the past few years, thus diminishing future sales, and of course they are now in the dumpster stock price wise.
Ok, we know this.
Now, according to people who know the retail biz, sales are heavy, very heavy. Store managers are looking at the year end bonus as well as the wall street/hedge fund types, as previously discussed.
Ok, so what happens to the retail trade, like Best Buy & Circuit City and suppliers like Apple, etc in Jan Feb & March?
As to your question for Monday, I think it is more productive to look at a bigger and more profitable play, and that is picking off individual stocks that will have a hard time replacing these boffo sales in the first quarter, and when to get into them short.
Monday January 2 2006 and the trading that week should be quite telling.
As I said, looking for entry on the short side. Message 21912705 |
