Pittsburgh did the same thing in 1970 for three rivers stadium. In 2000 they torn it down and built a new stadium. During those 30 years they only paid interest on those bonds. The principle is still owe, even though there is no longer a stadium. Gee who picked up the tab??? The tax payers. There is no free lunch.
