If you seriously believe that, then I can't argue with you. The iPod is far from a necessary tool for any kind of academic activity. Schools that have pursued such requirements obviously are missing the point about what academic learning is really all about. They think that will fix the problem of poor academic performance. Funny how student's in India and the far East have been doing much better than US students in the maths and sciences without any iPods!

Let some other people have said, Apple's cult status ignores reality. It will be a sobbering reality when the sh_it hits the fan.
