Sure they do, but Israel isn't the US. So far, the only Islamic terrorists who seem to be interested in operating in the US are Sunnis. Shiites are more interested in cementing gains in the ME. Once Iran becomes the ascendant power in the ME, something they couldn't have done without us, they will be in a consolidation phase for decades. They are much more interested in dealing with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Syria and other countries than they are with the US.

Once they are done with that, assuming the US is content with sitting on the sidelines whisting "Yankee Doodle" the whole time, then the US has to worry about Shiite terrorists.

The article you linked to has a major flaw, the Ba'athist had no major connection to Al-Qaeda. As near as we can tell, the Ba'athist, who Saddam waved the baton for, regarded Al-Qaeda as a threat. Pretty much all of their contact was to learn about them to contain them.
