RE:"you see nothing wrong with getting people to stand in line at 3 AM for 15 lousy laptops"

Standing in line at 3am IS OPTIONAL. Anybody thats done the BF thing knows that you take your chances.

OTOH...I'm all for making this stuff everyday low prices.

At least Circuit City had the decency to open at midnight for all us night owls. <G>

And Best Buy tried to scam their teenage clientele by selling them $120 of required game software IN ADDITION to their on-sale XBOX. This poor kid locally had just enough money for the XBOX and had to walk away empty handed because BB had this scam in operation. Another kid ended up ponying up the money so he could get his XBOX but knew he had gotten screwed big time. At least BB is making good on their scam but it doesn't change the fact that big business thinks they can get away with this crap. And when people like you and I blow it off, it just gives them greater license to keep doing it.

There is a growing desperateness in this country that makes me increasingly uncomfortable. In Atlanta, a mother bought her kid an XBOX only to walk out of the store and have it ripped off from her. There are more and more incidents like that being reported. This kind of frenzied behavior over crap makes me wonder what's happening to people in this country.
