We are losing jobs to India and China in a cascade because we cannot compete.

For the most part, the jobs that are created in India and China are jobs that machines will do in a short period of time. These are not jobs that we want to compete in.

Losing a job that you have had for most of your life that paid $20 an hour that some one in India and China would only be too happy to do for $1.00 a day is tough. I should be more understanding of the suffering that goes in to it. But, it is better to find out now and prepare the kids so that they wouldn't have to face the same situation later on, may be a silver linning.

But, look at it this way. Those Chinese and Indians making that $1.00 a day now will soon be losing that job to some machine or computer. Better to face up to it now than later on.
