I'm happy to be a tortoise in a world full of hares. Most folks don't realize that they may own a lot, but often they aren't worth much at all. Best lesson I learned from the Internet stock bubble is that if your continued prosperity depends on an unrealistic, unsustainable set of circumstances - whether it is an inflated salary, interest rates, availability of credit, bloated stock prices, whatever - then you haven't achieved anything at all. The "success" you have is illusory. I don't think most of America has come to terms with what underpins the current "recovery" such as it is.
