Ah- you are talking about seeing the grasshopper in distress? Well, most people are empathetic. They cry when they see a baby starving, and they are sorry for someone who has lost all their possessions. It seems to be part of being human.

What I am talking about is thinking about the grasshoppers in advance of the "kodak moments" of disaster that bring out a brief spurt of empathy in other people. So perhaps we were talking about two very different things.
